What Is Steganography ?

Steganography is a classic technique of hiding information without arousing much suspicion. It is basically the art of hiding secret file or messages within harmless looking files. Steganography works by hiding the secret data in the unused bits of data in regular files. There are a variety of different host files that can be used to hide data in. Some of the most common varieties of host files are : .jpeg, .bmp, .jpg, .pdf, .mp3, .wav and many more. An attacker can easily execute Steganography by simply downloading a readymade tool from the Internet.
